This listing is for TWENTY board feet of planed Monkeypod wood. All of these boards are 1 and 1/2 (or 1.5) inches thick and have been kiln dried and planed. Monkeypod has amazing figure and character. Monkeypod is very similar to figured black walnut. Monkeypod is used for fine furniture, flooring, paneling, cabinets, shelves, etc.  We have a lot of this planed 1.5 = 1 and 1/2 inch thick Monkeypod. We are the direct importer of this beautiful wood.
We have our own kilns and sawmills and can custom cut wood including services such as edging, planing, sanding, finishing, etc. The scientific name for Monkeypod is pithecolobium samans.
This listing is for TWENTY BOARD FEET of Monkeypod wood. This wood has been kiln dried and planed and is 1.5 or 1 and 1/2 inches thick. We will send you boards that are from 3 to 8 inches wide and 36 to 72 inches long. In order to ensure a source of consistently superior wood that is also environmentally-friendly, we have developed and continue to maintain our own tree plantations. Many years ago, we planted hundreds of thousands of trees in Costa Rica in an effort to reforest areas of this country that had been completely denuded of forest. The trees are tended with great expertise and care, and in a process spanning decades, they produce the finest wood in the world. Each of our plantations is managed in a sustainable, environmentally-sound way so that at least our small part of the tropical rain forest will be permanently preserved.
