Antique Signed Authentic Nippon Japan Hand Painted Hat Pin Holder Moriage Gilt; Marked For Authenticity.
This is a piece from my personal family collection that is as beautiful today as it was in the 1800;s when it was hand crafted in Japan. The colors are rich, the details are intricate, and the gold is heavy and glistening. Flowers, leaves, medallions, and both laurel and braided bands. There is also a heavy amount of raised moriage beading throughout. It features 8 small holes on top and 1 large central hole. Originally when my grandmother discovered this piece she paid well over 0 due to its age, authenticity, and stunning one of a kind quality. Considering the market is flooded with so many replicas and similiar pieces of lower quality, I'm pricing this to sell. (I also want to ensure it finds the perfect home. It's an emotional piece for me and it reminds me so much of my grandmother that I have to let it go. Hopefully another family will love it as much as we did and pass it down as we did.)
Measures 5" tall, with a 1.5" top diameter, and a 2.75" base diameter. This is a larger size than other comparable pieces, further indicating its authenticity. She's a small piece, but mighty; weighing approximately half a pound of perfect Japanese porcelain.
Mint condition; no chips, cracks, or fading. For a delicate piece that's over 100 years old, that's incredible and almost hard to believe.
