100 board feet SILKWOOD: great for table bases, aprons, woodworking projects!

Description

This is a listing for 100 board feet of Silkwood squares and dimensional lumber useful for making table bases, table legs, turnings such as posts, and other fine woodworking projects. The scientific name for Silkwood is ceiba pentandra. We have 4 inch x 4 inch as well as 3 inch x 3 inch and 2 inch x 3 inch dimensional lumber. The lengths of these square pieces arefrom 6 to 10 feet long. These will work great for aprons, table legs, table bases, or other projects.
The pictures show the quality of wood for sale in this listing and the log that the squared boards and posts came from. This was a giant tree that we salvaged in Costa Rica. There are pictures that show the root rot at the base as well as the size of the first log that was useful 40 foot above ground level. We stock many different species of wood slabs including bookmatched or consecutive slabs. Silkwood is a lighter colored wood that takes a finish well. We have clients who use Silkwood interchangeably with Satinwood (see the 8th picture attached--the base of this table is made with Silkwood) as it has similar properties. Silkwood is a nice wood and easy to work. Turners love this wood--we also sell giant blanks for making bowls. We have hundreds of slabs in stock.
