This listing is for one hundred board feet of Teak wood in slab form. In order to ensure a source of consistently superior wood that is also environmentally-friendly, we have developed and continue to maintain our own tree plantations. Many years ago, we planted hundreds of thousands of trees in Costa Rica in an effort to reforest areas of this country that had been completely denuded of forest. The trees are tended with great expertise and care, and in a process spanning decades, they produce the finest teak wood in the world. Each of our plantations is managed in a sustainable, environmentally-sound way so that at least our small part of the tropical rain forest will be permanently preserved.
