This listing is for 10 true rosewood cocobolo turning squares. These are 1.5 inches x 1.5 inches x 12 inches long. For a more complete selection of our cocobolo turning squares/blanks, and many other exotic tropical hardwood products, - This is true cocobolo rosewood from the dalbergia family of trees! This listing is for 10 cocobolo rosewood turning squares. These 10 pieces measure 1.5 x 1.5 x 12 inches long. These are true cocobolo rosewood with the scientific name dalbergia retusa .  They are from an extremely dry area in Nicaragua and have very tight growth rings and lots of burls, swirls, and beautiful colors (reds, yellows, oranges, and lots of black stripes!) These blanks have been end sealed with anchorseal wax (an inert, emulsified bees wax that is organic and so safe you could eat it) so that the wood dries evenly and slowly in our kilns. We have low temperature dehumidifaction kilns so the wood dries slowly and will not have stresses, checking, and problems associated with high temperature kiln drying. All of our cocobolo turning blanks have been kiln dried. Beware of green wood that has moisture pockets inside and will change its size and dimensions. These blanks are all 100% heartwood and have amazing figure. Nicaragua cocobolo usually sells for to per board foot compared to Mexican Cocobolo which sells for less as it is softer and not as highly figured. This cocobolo comes from an extremely dry part of Nicaragua along the south eastern Pacific coast and is world class. Kiln Dried!
